What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect your profile information and store it internally. As a member, you may change your profile information at any time. This information is necessary for your membership. This information is not shared with any third party except the minimum necessary to process your credit card for payments.

We collect and retain transactional data such as the date and amount of transactions for your benefit. This is available to you in your member account area. It is not shared with third parties.

Your name and email address are maintained internally and as part of our member mailing list, which you may opt-in to. We use a double opt-in procedure. This is for the weekly Webster members-only newsletter. You can opt-out of the newsletter mailing and if so, your name and email address are removed from the list.

If you contact us using our Visitor or Member Contact Forms, we retain your name, email address, and email content within our email server for a minimum of 5 years. This is not shared with any third party.

What we share with others

The minimum necessary data is shared with our mailing list service and Stripe (our payment processor) such as name, email address, and the information necessary to process or support payments such as purchase total and billing information.

How we protect your data

We maintain state of the art website security with multiple layers of intrusion detection and isolation.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Analytics

We utilize Google Analytics, which may set cookies in your browser.

When you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Member dues are our only source of revenue, and our advice is based solely on our experience and expertise.
